Nice Autistic Childhood Feels:

• watching your favorite movie or show over and over, going to the video rental place and picking out the same movie each time (if you’re old like me)
• spinning around a pole, spinning around on a swing, spinning in general, swings in general
• the toy or stuffed animal that had to go everywhere with you
• sticking your hand out the window in the car and feeling the force of the air in your palm
• incorporating your special interests into school assignments and activities whenever you could
• creating elaborate fantasy universes and imaginary friends in your mind to daydream about for hours
• staring at the screensaver or the weird music player animations on the computer

please feel free to add more, I know these aren’t universal but I love to reminisce about the nice parts of my childhood!

Today my seven year old cousin said, in reference to the subject of pirates:

“It’s one of my distant likes. I still really like it when it comes up.”

And I just had to record it somewhere because I think it’s such a wise and simple way of expressing an important concept. Sometimes I feel like I’m neglecting an interest if I don’t do anything about it for a long period of time, like I can’t really say I like it if I don’t keep it up, but no, it’s just… it’s a distant like. That’s its own thing now.

She gets philosophical when in fancy dress, apparently.

Actually theres an Argentinian comic/tv show called Cybersix thats pretty much exactly this, except the other way around:

“Cybersix” (superhero persona)

“Adrien Seidelman” (civilian persona)

i believe all the episodes are on youtube if you want to watch it…

I was literally just thinking of this post and adding Cybersix the other day!
