if a teenager is at your door and they are wearing a costume!! please give them candy!! they are still in it for the halloween spirit and it honestly no different from a little kid in a costume. they are just as excited and happy as all the other lil tykes and dont you dare tell them they are “too old for trick-or-treating” because that will literally break their hearts and that’s not cool.

You can’t tell how old a kid is just by looking. I’ve known multiple 5th graders who were taller than I am, and I’m 25 years old. With their faces hidden by masks, you won’t be able to tell they’re elementary schoolers, but they still are.
Lots of older siblings are expected to take their younger siblings trick-or-treating, and they only get paid in candy.
You don’t know if that teenager is developmentally disabled.
You don’t know if that teenager spent most of their childhood in a hospital or sick and has never had the traditional trick-or-treat experience before.
You don’t know if this is that teenager’s first Halloween in America, and they just want to experience a piece of American culture.
You don’t know if that teenager ever gets candy any other day of the year.
You don’t know if that teenager has eaten anything at all today.
And those are just things I can think of off the top of my head.
and even if it is just a bored 16/17 year old out trying to see what free shit they can get. is it really gonna kill you to give them a fun sized milky way from the multipack you bought at poundland? That thing didn’t even cost you 5p, just give the kid the sugar, say “nice costume”, and let it go.
I have much younger siblings that I went with but teen trick-or-treating was encouraged by my neighbors because it meant there were basically no bitter and bored high school students fucking around, destroying property or getting in trouble.

Poodles were bred as water retrievers, and the poofy haircuts they’re sometimes given were originally designed for practical purposes. They’re shaved so the wet hair wouldn’t weigh them down, except in areas that need the insulation if they’re swimming in cold water: poofs around the joints to prevent them from stiffening up, hair around the chest to keep the vital organs warm (and sometimes also a small saddle of hair over the kidneys, too), hair around the head because the head is where most animals lose a lot of their body heat. I’ve read the the pom on their tails was to make them easier to spot if they dived, but I’m not certain if that’s true.
Pitbulls were originally nanny dogs, and were left alone with children because they would demolish anyone that tried to hurt their precious squishy human friends.

The Miniature Pinscher is actually an older breed than the Doberman Pinscher, contrary to popular belief. However, he also wanted a dog that could live quietly and happily with his wife and children, so while they were meant to look fierce, his Dobermans were actually bred to have a very loyal and friendly, but still protective nature.
bull terriers with piebald coats are more likely to be born with partial or complete hearing loss. They are also the only breed of dog with the distinctive triangular eye shape. Soft coated wheaten terriers are so soft because they grow hair instead of fur. When first born, the puppies are dark brown and within roughly six months the hair turns golden. They also tend to hate being in the rain, probably because of how much harder to maintain wet hair is vs wet fur.
