Safety Tips You May Not Know

pervocracy:

– A sharp knife is safer than a dull knife, because a dull knife is more likely to jump out of your intended cut, and you’ll be using more pressure with it when it does

– Never wear gloves while operating power tools.  If they get caught in a spinning shaft or sawblade, it’s Bad News for your fingers.

– If a GFCI outlet (the kind with “test” and “reset” buttons often found in bathrooms, looks like this) trips, figure out why before resetting it.  Often it will be because something connected to it is wet or shorting out.

– Learn where the circuit breaker box is in your home and which switches control which lights/outlets/appliances.  Turn off the power if you need to work on anything electrical where you could come into contact with live wires, including any work on power outlets or light switches.

– If you get bitten by an animal or a human and it breaks the skin even a tiny bit, you need medical attention.  Even if the wound looks minor and the animal’s had rabies shots, mouths contain horrible bacteria. (This is especially true for cats.  They have small teeth so people think “this doesn’t need stitches, I’ll just bandage it up and deal with it at home,” and then they get an infection.)

– If paper, fabric, or anything else that can act as a wick gets into a candle or gets soaked with candle wax, it can make a HUGE flame.

– Pouring water on hot oil -> hot oil spatters in your face.

– Pouring water on flaming oil -> hot oil spatters in your face, and also it’s on fire, and also the fire is spattering everywhere else and there are flames going up to the ceiling.  NEVER DO THIS.  To put out an oil fire, use a non-water fire extinguisher, pour a bunch of salt on it, or cover it with a lid.

– You are NOT the one person on Earth who can safely drive drunk.  You really aren’t.  “Oh, but I’ll go real slow–” no.  “I’ll focus really hard–” no.  “I know the secret tricks to do it right–” no.  Whatever a cab costs, it’s less than trauma surgery or a defense lawyer.

Ok but Rob Liefeld now draws better than rcdart, and much better than he used to

because unlike rcdart he actually took the criticisms to heart and started working on shortcoming in his art.

Holy shit Rob Liefeld can feet?

They’re a little wonky, but yeah. He’s gotten a lot better on all levels. I mean, look at Domino back there. She’s not 90% leg.

Same thing happened with B^Uckley. actually. He also started really training his art skills and CAD is no longer a flash-based sprite comic.

They moved aside for the next generation of shit artists.

REAL TALK THOUGH, Ctrl Alt Del has made so much progress through it’s art style. The man doesn’t copy and paste the same assets anymore and he’s somehow sometimes original with less videogame humor. I have no idea how the man did it but I’m kinda proud of Tim Buckler.

What the fuck

Reblog to give credit to formerly crappy artists for learning from criticism and becoming non-crappy.
