ignoring halo 5… i always liked the implication that the promethean motifs in john’s armor in halo 4 were there bc cortana – destined to be the ultimate promethean (ie the perfect combination of mind and matter) – implemented them w/o totally realizing it, on an “instinctual” level much like john and forerunner tech……..
anyway ur-promethean theory is still very much alive whether 343i likes it or not !
