89-year-old Russian woman becomes world’s oldest surgeon
A surgeon is still performing hundreds of operations a year despite reaching the age of 89.
Alla Illyinichna Levushkina works at a hospital in Russia where she carries out operations every day.
She starts work every day at 8am and with a remarkable 67 years of service behind her, she’s carried out more than 10,000 surgeries.
She is proud of her track record – zero fatalities – and is living her childhood dream.
